This 6-hour training course is part of the national Playground to Podium series of programmes and resources. The outcome is to ensure that those working with young disabled people in Physical Education and Sport can recognise and support abilities in young disabled people and have a greater appreciation of their next steps on a potential performance pathway. The course is aimed at teachers however it is also suitable for School Sport Co-ordinators and teaching assistants with knowledge of Physical Education, as this is the important starting point and foundation to a high quality experience through curriculum provision. There are two ways in which to access a training course:
- A cluster of schools, a School Sport Partnership or an LDA can co-ordinate their own local course. The tutor fee and resources are free of charge and there is £500 towards the venue costs.
